McShannon's Chance

Trey McShannon survived the carnage of the Civil War, only to discover that the deepest wounds are those to the heart. A traitor to his home state of Georgia, Trey has built a new life for himself in the untamed Colorado Territory. Now it's time to find a wife to share the future he's worked so hard for - but can he free himself from his past? Beth Underhill is looking for choices. Needing to marry to escape being sent back East, she prefers Trey's honest business proposal to false promises of love. Can a union between a man who isn't sure he can still feel love, and a woman who doesn't believe it exists, blossom into more than a marriage of convenience?

Author Media Promotions

In this economy many authors are choosing the self promoting route. While most author promotions and book marketing experts don't recommend this, there's no doubt that there has been a increase in the self promoting author and especially those that have self published. If that's you, I encourage you to take the time and do your homework before jumping into the marketing arena. While it may seem easy, one soon finds out that it's not, few find success and it's very time consuming.
Yes you can build your own blog, but the question is do you know how to build and launch a successful blog and do you have the time to learn the process and everything surrounding that process? Yes you can join various author sites, interact with other authors, share your book, book cover and so on. However, are other authors your market? Yes there are some great authors forums out there, however, and once again is that where book lovers hang out or authors? Then there's the Internet, the search engines, key words, labels, how the search engines work and many other things to consider coupled with the fact that they are constantly changing and evolving.
My point being while all these things can be fun and a part of building a network while creating book buzz, they are and should be seen as secondary to a well thought out authors promotions and book marketing plan.
Here is a simple author promotions and book marketing plan for the new and self published author. Let's call it class 101 for authors.
1) Have a professional authors web site built.
2) Get your own .com that fits your book and marketing plan.
3) Have someone with the knowledge build or help you build and launch a professional blog.
4) Create a network that promotes you, your book, your web site and your blog that markets and promotes you as a author and your book not to other authors, but to book lovers within your market and buying audience.
5) Understand that you will not become a overnight success, that it takes hard work and time.

That's simple, now get started.

Author Blogs That Work "Keeping It Simple"

Too many times I come by author blogs that are created more so for the author than the visitor and reader of the blog. It's as if the author has designed their blog to make a statement or just to get their name up in lights.

A authors blog should be tailored to the visitor, the reader or the book lover. It should be created with simplicity in mind providing just enough information to capture the readers attention. The whole purpose of a authors blog is to promote, market and share your books with book lovers and readers.

So what should the basis of a authors blog be built upon?

1) A short description about the author with a authors head shot.
2) A short description about the book with a cover shot of the book.
3) Some reviews about the book.
4) A sneak preview into 1 or two pages of the book.
5) Where and how to order the book.
6) Some links that share where and how to order the book.
7) Some other short interesting writings or poetry to share with interested readers.

Of course from the above list one could become creative, but the who purpose of a authors blog is to create a simple marketing blog that showcases the book 1st, the author 2nd and how and where to order the book or books 3rd.

4 Key's To Successful Author Promotions And Book Marketing

Are you fast into promoting and marketing your books. If that is the case, I would imagine that you are following the authors buzz circuit. Blink, I'm sure your wondering what the authors buzz circuit is? Me too, but what it boils down to is all these authors running around from site to site trying to get their name in lights while creating some fame and book buzz.

That's when authors attempt to pump up their book sales by hanging out at authors sites. You know, these cool sites where gazillions of authors register, hang out, interact and try and sell each other their books. Now that's targeted marketing. Imagine McDonalds trying to sell In N Out Hamburgers and french fries.

1st let me encourage you that while it is a lot of fun to hang out with other authors and writers, interact and share information. Authors write books and only make up for a very small tiny percentage of book buyers. In fact it's so tiny that it's not worth mentioning. You must not fall into that trap believing that you will find success selling your books on authors sites. Yes I know you get the cool profile pic, you can uplaod your book cover, create a description, click a few buttons and there you are in lights. Along with a kazillion other authors and books. Impressive.

Don't get me wrong there are a few premire sites out there that as a author you want to get pluged into. However authors that run around from site to site to site registering and interacting at these authors sites will find their inbox and email filled with not book sales, but simply online interactions, which can be fun by the way. However, I believe that what every author is hoping for is book sales. Right?

All authors must find the market that their book falls into and tap into that market and just because some forum, group or site has a room set to the side that your book falls into doesn't mean anything when it comes to sales.

Focus on the following:

1) A Authors site or blog. (This is a must)
2) A sister site or sister blog. (It's nice to have a fulltime salesmen)
3) Promoting and marketing those sites. (Bingo, this is key)
4) Prime networking using targeted marketing. (Marketing 101)

The above 4 things should be your 1st priority for online marketing. You must create your own network that shares you as author, about your book, contact information, additional content of interest and where and how to order your books. Then you must market your site, blog and network.

If you need some advice, assistance or a online specialist to help you with the above. Contact us at kingdomexpansion1@gmail.com as we can help.
